EF Mount Leica Leitz R 19mm 2.8 Cine Lens vii v2 ver ii FF full frame Scratches

  
This is an incredible wide angle (NON-FISH EYE) lens. It is insanely sharp wide open and it is far superior to the first version, which is well documented in reviews you can easily google. The lens has served me well for a variety of photo and video projects. Please contact me if you would like to see some samples shot with this lens. I have never used a more impressive still photography lens for video.

The sharpness, color, focus rotation, and aperture are all incredible. If you do black and work the built in filters are incredible. So easy to switch on and change the intensity of colors, especially skin tones, Leica made something really special. None of the other elements have any issues or damage.

The scratches on that front outer element have virtually no effect on the image if you shoot without closing the aperture. If you mainly shoot wide open and/or with ND filters you might never see any effect. I start to see ghosts on a full frame sensor after closing past f/5.6. Ropping to APS-C or Super 35mm further diminishes this effect.

I have not tested this side by side with the same lens without scratches so I cannot speak farther than my uses of it for the past year. I did my best to take very detailed macro shots so you can even see the tiny dust specs on the outside of the lens. I filmed a test of the aperture range on my full frame Sony a7III here. It is in wonderful and fully functional condition in every other regard. No fungus, no interior dust, and a clean aperture. The scratches on the front element were present when I bought the lens and used it for the past year. The Duclos mod was also present and it is very solid.

The EF mount is by Leitax, which screw directly on top of the Leica R mount if you wish to use the R mount. So it would not be difficult to use the R mount if you wanted to.

The Duclos mod also includes a declicked and dampened aperture which has a very smooth and solid action. It will stay where you put it and manual iris pulls are doable. The EF mount, solid 32 0.8 pitch focus gear, and declicked aperture make this a really ideal cine lens that covers full frame sensor including the Arri Alexa LF and Mini LF. The image circle is 43mm.
