Hi and welcome to my listing for a Leica 50mm Summicron F2 in M Mount. I'm sure if you've clicked the link to open this page then you know exactly what you're looking at and hopefully this is what you're looking for. This is the very latest version/model of Leica's legendary 50mm F2 Summicron and as such features factory 6 Bit Coding which enables your Leica M camera to automatically know which lens you have attached so that the appropriate information can be written to the exif data of the image files. Please don't confuse this coding with other older lenses that have been modified with paint or permanent marker pens (or whatever), this coding was added to the lens by Leica, in the Leica factory, by skilled workers at the time the lens was manufactured.

Compatible with all M mount cameras (and many others via an adaptor) this 50mm prime lens is considered a classic and rightly so! From Richard Caplan Photographic Ltd in November 2017 (please see photo of the receipt). It goes without saying, but needs to be said...

The optics are free from haze, fungus and scratches. The lens body is free from nasty scratches, scrapes and dents. This is a TINY rub mark on the in-built lens hood (please see photo).

The aperture ring clicks positively. The focus ring is smooth and well damped.

In short, this lens is functionally as good as new, and has only the lightest signs of use. It's a 100% complete set including both lens caps, all the paperwork, instructions, original box/packaging and soft leather carry pouch (which I never used once). I've included a TAAB focus claw, in case you wish to use it. Please see the photos, which should speak for themselves. Leica prices seem to rise yearly.
